WHY USE ECOROQ?

There are many benefits to using the Ecoroq filters and these come under two main categories:

Controls Humidity:
The Ecoroq filter, comprised primarily of the mineral Guerite, has the ability to absorb and desorb moisture. It is the only known natural mineral in the world that can do this.

By 'nature's design', Ecoroq filters strive to live in conditions of 80% - 90% relative humidity and will absorb or desorb moisture to maintain those conditions. This happens to be the same conditions for the perfect storage of foods and food preservation in coolers or refrigerated environments.

By controlling the humidity in the coolers, Ecoroq filters perform two very important tasks.

• In all coolers there are odors and airborne bacteria that come from the food. All odors are a form of bacteria. The bacteria molecules will attach to the water molecules in the fridge. Therefore, when the filters absorb the water molecules, the bacteria molecules are also absorbed, and held, in the mineral. This is one of the tasks the filter performs.
  
• Ethylene gas is also present in the cooler and it is ethylene gas that causes produce within the cooler to ripen or age. Ethylene gas is also attracted to the water molecules and is trapped and held along with the bacteria and odors.

The result of this is that the bacteria and ethylene gas do not form on the produce, resulting in fresher food, for longer periods of time.

• Meat will require 50% less trimming and will not go hard around the edges. 70% of the juices stay in the meat rather than on the tray, which means the goodness, color and flavor will be retained. Even the cook weight will be improved .
  
• Fish won't get that slimy texture that forms on the skin after only a few hours in the cooler.
  
• Vegetables, fruit and salads will all remain perfect for twice as long because the filters remove ethylene gas, which accelerates ageing/ripening, from the environment.
  
• Mushrooms won't go brown so quickly.
  
• Berries and soft fruits will remain at their best for at least twice as long.

Energy and Maintenance:
Cooler compressor units have their busiest usage times during the day when the cooler doors are continually being opened and closed. Humidity is usually at its highest at this time, as the warm air from outside the coolers enters in. As the ambient temperature in the coolers start to rise, the compressors start up to drive the temperature down to the set point (i.e. the temperature setting for the cooler).

When Ecoroq filters are installed, the moisture (warmer air) is absorbed, which means the compressors don't have to come on as often, or for as long, to drive the temperatures down to the set point.

The recovery times to set point are noticeably quicker and temperature peaks are often eliminated. At these times of heavy usage, the Ecoroq filters are working very hard as they absorb the excess moisture and this maintains a lower temperature, resulting in less usage from the compressors.

This results in an overall reduction in the run time of the compressors and evaporators, which equates to less time they are operating, which equates to less energy (power) used.

In addition, if compressors and evaporators aren't required to run as often, then the wear and tear on that machinery is greatly reduced. This results in less maintenance calls and a greater machine life .
